PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by using the quantity of output light at a time when end judgment conditions are satisfied and the quantity of output light prior to that, estimating theoretically the quantity of output light corresponding to an end judgment value by interpolation computation and determining an estimated quantity of output light as a picture element value. SOLUTION: When forming a three-dimensional ultrasonic image with an ultrasonic diagnostic device, ultrasonic beams are scanned three-dimensionally by electronic scanning and mechanical scanning by an ultrasonic probe, a three-dimensional ultrasonic image is formed on the basis of echo data obtained by an ultrasonic transducer in the image formation section. The computation section of this image formation section is structured by providing, an opacity computing unit 18, an output light quantity computing unit 20, an opacity accumulation unit 24, an end judgment unit 28 and a correlation computing unit 30 or the like. In the correlation computing unit 30, interpolation computation is executed on the basis of the quantity of output light at a time when end judgment conditions are satisfied, and the quantity of output light a step earlier, to estimate the quantity of output light corresponding to an end judgment value and the estimated quantity of output light is determined as a picture element value.
