PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top comber for a combing apparatus capable of raising combing effects and improving the operating efficiency by forming a section extended in each leg region of teeth so as to prevent impurities, especially fibers in the leg region from sticking. SOLUTION: This top comber is equipped with plural teeth 2 mutually arranged at an interval kept therebetween side by side and fixed to a supporting member 3 and provided with a free through opening between two mutually adjacent teeth 2. In the comber, the teeth 2 have two or more differently formed sections A1 and A2 when viewed in the longitudinal direction L thereof, and the section A2 extended in each leg region 5 of the teeth 2 is formed so as to prevent impurities, especially fibers in the leg region 5 from sticking. Furthermore, the formed width B2 of the second section A2 in the leg region 5 is larger than 2 mm and the formed length L1 of the first section A1 is larger than the Length L2 of the second section A2.
