PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably record with high reliability by a method wherein a following property of a tip section of a wiper blade to a recessed section is achieved even when a prescribed region including an ejection nozzle at an ejection nozzle face of a recording head is a recessed section, wriggling of the wiper blade is prevented even when the contact angle is set to be small and the contact angle for wiping the recessed section is maintained in an adequate value. SOLUTION: A prescribed region including an ejection nozzle 52 at an ejection nozzle face 51 of a recording head 51 is recessed relative to other portion to form a recessed section 28. A rib-shaped section 29 having a height roughly equal to the depth of the recessed section 28 is provided to a part of a tip rubbing section of a wiper blade 20 that goes into the recessed section 28.
