PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To best suitably remove an odor component and a gas component of air inside a vehicle by combining a base material consisting of an active carbon porous body having a numerical aperture per inch square indicating a specific value and a titanium oxide whose carrying amount indicates a specific value to the base material, as a coating over the entire surface of the base material. SOLUTION: For a base material consisting of an active carbon porous body, the shape of an aperture, the uniformity/ununiformity of the aperture and the preparation of the base material are not particularly defined, as far as the density of the apertures per inch square is 500-1,000. However, the entirety of the base material has to be composed of an active carbon. A titanium oxide layer covers the entire surface of the active carbon porous body. This is because of the necessity to increase the carrying amount of the titanium oxide to a maximum possible extent while minimizing the volume of a filter. The carrying amount of the titanium oxide is preferably 25-50 g per unit volume(liter) of the base material. Thus it is possible to remove nitrogen dioxide and ammonium both at a high removing rate from the air inside a vehicle, as far as the described conditions are met. |
