PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a bathtub to be suitable for multiple persons to be cared and to execute arrangement for permitting a caring person and the person to be cared to easily step over it by permitting the depth of the bathtub, the length and the width of the upper part of the bathtub to be respectively within the range of specified values. SOLUTION: The depth of the bathtub 2 is made to be 450 mm-500 mm, the length 5 of the bathtub 2 is 1,070 mm-1,100 mm, the width of the upper part of the bathtub 2 is 580 mm-650 mm and the width of the bathtub 2 at a 400 mm height position from the bottom surface of the bathtub 2 is 580 mm-600 mm. It is confirmed that the height is favorable to be equal to or more than 450 mm in order to perfectly soak a body in the bathtub 2 though the height for easy step by a tall person is equal to below 500 mm in the experiment of a testee being an aged person. As the result of that, the optimum value of the depth 4 in the bathtub 2 is obtained. Besides, the length 5 by which both of short person and a tall person can take a bath without knees out of hot water and with a jaw out of water is made to be the index of an optimum value. Moreover, the width required for caring is obtained by adding the width of left and right arms of the carer to the width across the shoulders of the person to be bathed.
