PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lengthen exchange period of a chip, to increase area of garbage being brought into contact with microorganisms and to efficiently perform decomposition treatment with the microorganisms. SOLUTION: This microorganism culturing chip 1 is made of china and porcelain and has a number of pores wherein microorganisms breed. The pores are exposed on the surface of the microorganism culturing chip 1 and continue inward and are e.g. fine holes with a diameter of severalμm. The microorganism culturing chip 1 has a long and slender round rod shape and a number of projections 2 whose apexes are sharp acute-angled and projected exist on the peripheral face and the peripheral parts of both end faces. In addition, a number of recesses 3 are formed on the surface of the microorganism culturing chip 1. In addition, the microorganism culturing chip is not restricted to a rod- like shape, but spherical, plate-like, etc., shapes may be used.
