PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a moisture content to be supplied every time, and to secure enough strength related to the moisture content of a splicing connecting part. SOLUTION: In this rewinding unit of an automatic rewinder having a splicer 7 for connecting both thread ends to each other after thread breakage, in which a liquid, especially water is supplied to a splacing connecting part 24, a capacitive sensor 13 capable of detecting fluctuation of a dielectric when it passes the damped splicing connecting part 24 is disposed on the downstream of the splicer 7, and an evaluating device 12 for generating a signal when the fluctuation value of the dielectric is below a preset threshold is connected to the capacitive sensor 13.
