PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alumina ceramic composition of low loss (high-Q value) improved in sinterability and productivity using a general-purpose low-purity alumina feedstock. SOLUTION: This ceramic composition comprises <=10 wt.%, pref. <0.2 wt.%, of Mg (calculated as MgO), >=0.2 wt.%, pref. 0.5-10 wt.%, of Ti (calculated as TiO2) and the balance with Al2O3 and inevitable impurities; wherein part of the texture has Al2TiO5 phase which is deposited at grain boundary and includes part of another grain boundary phase consisting of the inevitable impurities. |
