PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for completely regenerating a catalyst filter within a short time and at a low cost in terms of filtration and catalyst activity. SOLUTION: This method is employed for regenerating catalyst filters 28, 30 employed for treating a flue gas particularly in a waste incineration facility and suitable for mechanical separation of solid matter and treating and converting gaseous polluting substances. By the method, the catalyst filters 28, 30 are heated to a temperature higher than their operation temperature. Simultaneously, a carrier gas is supplied to the catalyst filters 28, 30 and therefore the catalyst filters 28, 30 are regenerated by heat and mechanical treatment at the same time. The method, which can be carried out easily and economically, is capable of swiftly recovering the mechanical and catalytic filter functions by heat and mechanical treatment at the same time. |
