PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting abnormality of yarn braid of a yarn braid hose, capable of effectively preventing error operation of a braiding machine in parts other than a yarn breakage part in yarn braiding and a loosened part of yarn, improving operation efficiency and reducing operation of operators. SOLUTION: A cylindrical detraction member 11 in which an engaging member 12 composed of plural needle-like projections is provided at a prescribed interval in circumferential direction is slidably and detachably fitted into a yarn braided hose. The cylindrical detection member 11 is openably connected through a connecting member 13, and a plate-like connecting member 14 is hung on vertical lower side in the lower part of the detection member 11 and attached so as to come into contact with a detector 7 of a limit switch 6. One end of an elastic member 16 comprising a rubber braid-like member forced in a direction reverse to a carrying direction of hose is attached through a twisting back member 17 to the plate-like connecting member 14 and other end of the elastic member 16 is hung on a hook 18 fixed on the side of a braiding machine 2.
