PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover valuable metal from a waste soln. without generating gaseous gas harmful to the environment. SOLUTION: In this electrolytic treating method in which an acidic waste soln. contg. metal is electrolyzed to recover metal, the space between a cathode electrode 1 and an anode electrode 2 is fitted with a bypolar film composed of an anion exchange film 3 and a cation exchange film 4, and an electrolytic cell 5 is separated into a cathode part 6 and an anode part 7, an acidic waste soln. is poured into the cathode part, an alkaline aq. soln. is poured into the anode part, and after that, electrolysis is executed.
