PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat in a relatively short time while bad smell is prevented from being generated to contribute to the protection of environmental pollution and to relatively simplify the whole apparatus and to operate the apparatus by a low maintenance expenditure. SOLUTION: In a decomposition treatment machine for food waste utilizing microorganisms, a sprinkling pipe 7 for sprinkling water on the content on the top part of a drum arranged in a casing 2 is provided and a filter 6 is provided on the bottom of the drum 5 and a cavity drainage room 13 is provided below the filter 6 so as to drain water gathered through a drainage hole 14 provided on one side of the drainage room 13. In addition, on another side of the drainage room 13, one end of an air feeding pipe through which air is taken in and which can be sucked through a suction pump 16 on the top part of the drum 5 is mounted.
