METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING CHANNEL RESOURCE BLOCK/UNBLOCK INFORMATION BETWEEN MOBILE SWITCHING CENTER AND INTERWORKING UNIT

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting channel resource information between a mobile switching center(MSC) and an interworking unit(IWFU) is provided to transmit the channel resource information to the IWFU as a message using a primary rate interface(PRI) Q.931 message standard and to make the IWFU transmit an acknowledge message to the MSC as a message using the Q.931 message standard, so that the IWFU can easily recognize block/unblock states of a channel resource to increase call succeeding rates. CONSTITUTION: If a B_channel resource is blocked, a mobile switching center(MSC)(5) generates a channel resource block message and transmits the block message to an interworking unit(IWFU)(10)(S110). The IWFU(10) retrieves a channel identification field of the block message to recognize blocked B_channel information, and generates a channel resource block acknowledge message to transmit the acknowledge message to the MSC(5) through a D_channel. The block message and the acknowledge message agree with a primary rate interface(PRI) Q.931 message standard.
