SUBSTANCE: agent for suppressing growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria is 2-hydroxy-1-perhydro [1,3,5-dithiazin-5-yl] ethane of general formula : C5H11S2ON. The latter compound is synthesized from formalin, monoethanol amine and hydrogen sulfide in stoichiometric ratio at room temperature.
