PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological treatment method enabling stable and efficient solid-liquid separation treatment and a biological treatment apparatus relatively reduced in the space required for installation and high in economical efficiency. SOLUTION: In a biological treatment method, at least one hollow cylindrical filter body 9 having filter cloth provided to the outer peripheral surface thereof is immersed in a biological reaction tank 6 and the biological reaction liquid in the biological reaction tank 6 is subjected to solid-liquid separation treatment by the head difference between the inside and outside of the filter body. The filtrate in the filter body 9 is taken out as treated water.
