PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight and size of an intake manifold equipped with a first branch passage and a first gathering chamber for the first intake port at each cylinder of an internal combustion engine and a second branch passage and second gathering chamber for the second intake port of the engine cylinder, wherein the second intake port has a higher swirl generating effect than the first intake port. SOLUTION: Cylinders 2 of an internal combustion engine 1 are grouped in two on one side and the other side in the direction of cylinders arranged in row, and the positional relationship in the cylinder arranged direction of the first intake ports 7 and second intake ports 7 for the cylinders 2 is such that the No.1 and No.2 cylinders 2 belonging to the first named group and the No.3 and No.4 cylinders 2 belonging to the other group are symmetrical. The first intake port 71 and the first branch passage 201 of each cylinder 2 and the upstream part 72 a of the second intake port 72 and the second branch passage 202 are formed extending as inclined inward in the cylinder arranged direction toward the respective gathering chambers 211 and 212.
