PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition which expands the operating temperature range of a liquid crystal display device property, reduces the driving voltage and achieves a relatively fast response for a specific driving voltage by blending one or more liquid crystal compounds of a specific structure. SOLUTION: A nematic liquid crystal composition is obtained by blending a liquid crystal component A consisting of one or more compounds of one ore more general formulas selected from formulas I-V, 0-99.9 wt.% of a liquid crystal component B consisting of a compound having a dielectric constant aeolotropy of at least +2 and 0-85 wt.% of a liquid crystal component C consisting of a compound having a dielectric constant aeolotropy of -10-+2, where the total of the components B and C is 0-99.9 wt.%, wherein R1 is a 1-10C alkyl or a 2-10C alkenyl; Q1 is F, Cl, CF3 or the like; X1-3 are each H, F, Cl, CF3 or the like; W1-6 are each F, Cl, CF3 or the like; K1-5 are each a single bonding, -COO-, -CH2O- or the like; ring A1-4 are each 1,4-phenylene or the like; k1-8 are each 0 or 1; k3+k4 is 0 or 1; and k5+k6+k7+k8 is 0, 1, or 2.
