PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting clamp method for a heavy shape steel and a lifting clamp for a heavy shape steel material. SOLUTION: A bearing seat 4 is provided on a lower jaw part 2 of a clamp main body 1, a hydraulic fastening jack 5 is provided on an upper jaw part 3, a hydraulic lifting jack 6 is disposed in a higher position than the upper jaw part and connected to the main body 1 by a universal joint 7, an oil chamber having a piston rod is formed on a piston head of the lifting jack, an oil receiving chamber having no piston rod is formed on a supply and discharge port of the oil chamber and the fastening jack, the supply and discharge port of the oil chamber of the lifting jack and the supply and discharge port of the oil receiving chamber of the fastening jack 5 are connected by a pressure oil hose 10, the pressure oil in the oil chamber is fed to the receiving chamber of the fastening jack through the pressure oil hose 10 by rising of the piston head of the lifting jack to lower the piston head, and a member W to be lifted is gripped by the fastening seat and the bearing seat 4.
