PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably recover a solvent with a simple and economical structure by combining a filter apparatus equipped with a separation membrane for separating a solvent and harmless component other than the solvent, a cooling apparatus for cooling and condensing the solvent sent from the filter apparatus, and a recovery means for recovering the condensed solvent. SOLUTION: This solvent recovery apparatus A is used while being connected to a discharge passage of a waste gas discharged out a coating booth in, for example, an automobile coating line. Harmless components such as air and water and the like in the waste gas and a solvent in vapor state or mist-like state are separated by a separation membrane 4 in a filter apparatus 1. The solvent passed through the filter apparatus 1 is cooled and condensed by a cooling apparatus 2. Further, the cooled and condensed solvent is recovered in a recovery tank 3. Consequently, the entire body of the apparatus A can be simplified and made compact and at the same time a solvent can reliably be separated and recovered without spending a large quantity of thermal energy to lower the running cost.
