PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating agent capable of achieving good durability upon lacquering. SOLUTION: A cellulose material-containing lacquer emulsion comprises a) 5-50 wt.% of a cellulose material, b) 5-50 wt.% of one or more hydroxyl group-containing lacquer resins, c) 0.1-10 wt.% of a polyisocyanate having one or more free isocyanate groups, d) 0.5-30 wt.% of a plasticizer, e) 0.0-45 wt.% of at least one organic solvent, and g) 10-65 wt.% of water. The total of components a) to g) should invariably be at 100 wt.%. The lacquer emulsion has a ratio by weight of the OH group to the NCO group of 1:0.01-10.
