STEERING COLUMN SUPPORTING STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a support beam for supporting a steering column to be linearly extended between right and left front pillars. SOLUTION: This supporting structure has the support beam 11 connected via a brace 14 to a front cowl (a) located at the front of a vehicle. In this case, the steering column is supported against the rear end of the brace 14 via a support bracket 13 and the support beam 11 is passed through the mid portion of the brace 14 and securely welded to the brace 14.
