PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion type membrane separation apparatus backwashing method and its apparatus capable of washing separation membranes safely even using ozone. SOLUTION: In a treatment facility in which a mixed liquid-in-reaction-tank 22 stored in a reaction tank 21 is filtered by an immersion type membrane separation apparatus 23 itmnersed in the tank and the filtered treated water is dischatged out the tank through a treated water pipe 26 connected to the immersion type membrane separation apparatus 23, washing water is produced by leading the treated water to a backwashing water tank 30 and dissolving ozone in the treated water in the tank 30 and then the washing water is supplied through the treated water pipe 26 to backwash the immersion type membrane separation apparatus 23.
