<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent action of a collision load on a pedal arm through a push rod of a master back at the time of frontal impact of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In this brake pedal device, a pedal bracket 2 is contracted and deformed by a collision absorption means 8 at the time of a frontal impact of a vehicle, so that engagement of a pivot bracket 3 with a lock plate 7 is disengaged. Because a turn of the pivot bracket 3 is permitted, the pivot bracket 3 is turned around a shaft 4 to pull a pedal arm 6 to the vehicle front side. Accordingly, even if a master back is moved backward, or a dash lower panel is deformed to the cabin side to move a push rod of the master back backward, generation of an incongruity sense caused by a backward shift of a press down position of the pedal arm 6 can be avoided.</p> |
