PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having a side panel whose strength is increased, and enhancing the accessibility of a unit and the jam treatment and the manipulatability. SOLUTION: In an image forming device including jam treatment dials 28, 30 for driving a conveying means in the image forming device body in order to discharge a sheet remaining in the image forming device body when the latter comes to a stop due to any abnormality caused during conveyance of the sheet in the image forming body, the shafts of the dials 28, 30 are fitted in a front side panel 33 forming a frame of the image forming body while a unit including the conveying means (a fixing roller 22, a pair of register rollers 8 and the like) adapted to be driven by the dials 28, 30 is installed and removed through a surface on the side remote from the front side panel 33, and the shafts of the dials 28, 30 are coupled with drive input parts of the conveying means through the intermediary of coupling means (gears 27, 29, couplings 38, 39 and the like) when the unit is installed.
