PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the tooth of a driving sprocket from shifting resulting from raising vehicle height by increasing crawler tension and to shift the rate of change of the crawler circumferential length to the minus side as the vehicle height is raised above a predetermined value, in order to correctively prevent the sensitivity of automatic direction control from being excessively high thereby. SOLUTION: This traveling crawler winds a crawler belt from a driving wheel 5 to a driven wheel 6 movable toward and away from the driving wheel, 5 through several groups of rollers 7, 7 disposed on the grounded side between both wheels, to increase or decrease the vehicle height by the up/down control of each group of rollers 7, 7. In this case, the crawler belt is constituted such that the more the vehicle height is raised, the longer the circumferential length becomes, but when the vehicle height is further increased in excess of a predetermined value of vehicle height, the circumferential length decreases.
