PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rope with a self-diagnosing function, which can detect internal deterioration status of the wire rope quickly and easily. SOLUTION: This wire rope 11 with a self-diagnosing function is capable of determining the life of a rope by a non-destructive test. This wire rope includes a core strand 7 twined with a detecting member 2 for detecting a change in electric characteristics of a rope core part which becomes a decision material for determining the life of a rope, and a side stand 10 braided in the periphery of the core strand 7. The detecting member 2 has a continuous fibrous conductive fiber member to which conductivity is applied, and an insulating covering material for insulating the conductive fiber member from the other peripheral member and the side strand 10. |
