<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the desulfurizing ability and the slagging property of a flux for refining a metal and to enable its recycling. SOLUTION: This flux contains the components of at least 40-60% CaO and 2-20% CaF2 and 0-0.1% S and each component is pre-fused and further, the grain size is controlled to the value in the range of 1-50 mm. Since each component is pre-fused, this flux is easily melted and has excellent slagging property. Since CaO, CaF and S are set to the suitable concentration and the slagging property is excellent, the desulfurizing ability is high. Even in the case of increasing S, since S can selectively be removed by oxidizing treatment, the recycling of the flux can be executed.</p> |
