PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the production of a liquid absorption core having stable quality, to enable the inexpensive mass production of the core having excellent deflective strength and form holding strength without the occurrence of clogging during use and further to enable the adsorption of a compact shape. SOLUTION: This liquid absorption core comprises a core material (C) and a sheath material (S) and is a rod-like liquid absorption core for adsorbing a function agent and transpirating the function agent to the circumference. The sheath material (S) is composed of a fibrous material consisting of a braid, woven fabric, knitted fabric, felt or nonwoven fabric. In addition, the cut fiber terminal (Si) constituting the sheath material (S) at the cut end of the liquid absorption core is subjected to a fusing treatment and/or adhering treatment.
