PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a recording medium from jamming easily by a simple structure even when a recording medium discharge opening is blocked during printing or a space near the recording medium discharge opening is small. SOLUTION: In this printer 1, tape-like recording mediums (labels 100) are positioned between a thermal recording heat and a platen roller, and images are recorded on surfaces of the labels 100 by heating of the thermal recording head while sequentially conveying the labels 100 along their longitudinal direction. A label discharge opening 10 for discharging the labels 100 with the images recorded on them is formed on an exterior part side face of the printer 1. In such a case, by forming a passage 9 constituting one part of the label discharge opening 10 with an inclinationθdeg. is respect to a sending direction of the labels 100, the labels 100 with the images recorded on them can be conveyed substantialy along the exterior part side face.
