PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a contact switch, to prevent trouble such as disconnection, to reduce the number of part items, and to simplify a protection control program. SOLUTION: This transmission includes: an actuator 4 having a motor 6 provided in a position where it presses a transmission rod 3 extending from the axis of the transmission 50 mounted in the hub 2 of a wheel, for imparting pressure to the transmission rod 3, and also having a pressure accumulating part 80 interposed between the motor 6 and the transmission rod 3; a control board 5 having a current detecting part for monitoring the current consumed by the motor 6 and controlling the actuator 4; and an alarm device 11 actuated by a signal from the control board 5. In this case, when the motor 6 is actuated by a command from the control board 5, the actuator 4 causes the pressure to the transmission rod 3 to be accumulated in the pressure accumulating part 80 until the internal transmission becomes able to shift gears. The control board 5 actuates the alarm device 11 on detecting using the current detecting part the current which increases when shift operations cannot be done.
