METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TRAFFIC FOR PROVIDING GUARANTEED SERVICE

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a traffic for providing a guaranteed service is provided to effectively control the guaranteed service by controlling transmission paths of various traffic data through a policing function using an MC(Moving Ceiling) method and a packet scheduling function using a WFQ(Weighted Fair Queueing) method. CONSTITUTION: A policing unit monitors a mean transmission rate of packet data according to each path using an MC method(S2). The policing unit monitors the number of pass packet data during a uniform time and judges whether the inputted packet data are satisfied with a packet data pass condition of the MC method(S3). If the inputted packet data are satisfied with the packet data pass condition of the MC method, the policing unit transmits the packet data of each path to a packet scheduler and perform a packet scheduling of the packet scheduler by a WFQ method(S4). If the inputted packet data are not satisfied with the packet data pass condition of the MC method, the policing unit judges whether margin exists in a random storage place(S5). If the margin exists in the random storage place, the policing unit temporarily stores the packet data of each path in the random storage place. If the margin does not exist in the random storage place, the policing unit cleans the packet data(S6). The policing unit judges whether the packet data are currently serviced according to a weight condition provided to each input path(S7). If the packet data are currently serviced according to the weight condition, the policing unit transmits the packet data to a multiplexer and the multiplexer transmits the packet data through one transmission path(S8).
