PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear for single wheel independent drive that can adjust to an arbitrary tread, arbitrary differential gear, independent suspension system and all types of a power supply source. SOLUTION: A fixed member 11 has a coupling portion 13, and a rotary member 21 is fitted on the fixed member 11 for rotation thereabout. The space enclosed by both members 11 and 21 stores an input shaft 31 rotatably supported on the fixed member 11, reduction gears 35 interposed between the input shaft 31 and rotary member 21, and a brake device 36 interposed between both fixed and rotary members 11 and 21. The input shaft 31 has a drive coupling portion 32 facing the fixed member 11, while the rotary member 21 has a wheel coupling portion 24. For system operation, the coupling portion 13 is fixedly coupled to a vehicle-side coupling portion, a vehicle-side driving axle end is coupled to the drive coupling portion 32, and a wheel is fixedly mounted on the wheel coupling portion 24.
