PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the runaway of a controller automatically to restart the controller. SOLUTION: A printer controller 102, a copy controller 103 and a facsimile controller 104 issue a communication confirming command to a main controller 105 at an interval shorter than a predetermined time. If the main controller can not receive the communication confirming command at a predetermined time interval, a runaway monitor part 115 judges that the main controller gets into a runaway state to issue a restart signal through a restart part 116.
