PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To catch a target position accurately by moving an ink jet print head along the surface of a print medium by means of a working arm performing arcuate motion. SOLUTION: When a print start command is provided under a state where the bottom face of a stamp is fixed (pressed by hand) while touching a print medium, a stepping motor 21 rotates to cause counterclockwise rotation of a drive gear. A working arm 41 meshing the drive gear through an internal gear 41a performs counterclockwise arcuate motion. Consequently, the leg part 41c of the arm 41 slides on the surroundings and the guide roller 51a of a print head 51 is guided by a guide groove 13a to move to the right. Print operation is finished upon stoppage of the stepping motor 21 which is then rotated reversely with a predetermined time lag and reset.
