In the production method of the invention, the skin (4) formed on the outer surface of the foam block (1), produced from an open cell polyurethane material, is stripped and removed in order to enhance the vacuum performance. The foam cabinet with its skin removed, is then used for shaping the inner (2) and outer (3) structures. Thus, a lower energy consumption by increasing the insulation performance and an easier shaping of the refrigerator cabinet. Finally the foam block is placed between the inner (2) and outer (3) structures, vacuum is applied and the two structures sealed, forming the refregerator door and walls.
