The concrete cross beam comprises a single body with longitudinal reinforcement (3,3'',4,6). It is provided with at least two devices for fixture of rails. The reinforcement is pre-tensioned and has a tensile strength of at least 200 N/mm2 and a total cross-section at the level of the rail fixture devices of at least 100 mm2. The concrete has a characteristic cubic pressure strength of at least 45 N/mm2, and preferably at least 50 N/mm2. The reinforcement is of steel and has a tensile strength of at least 350 N/mm2, and preferably at least 500 N/mm2. The rail fixture devices (5) are of plastic.
