OPTICAL RETARDATION PLATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical retardation plate capable of giving a uniform optical retardation to wavelengths in a wide wavelength band (the entire visible light region), having good lubricity and excellent in production stability. SOLUTION: The optical retardation plate has at least a layer containing a norbornene resin and an inorganic filler and a layer containing a styrene- maleic anhydride copolymer resin. Preferably the optical retardation plate has 0.1-0.5μm average volume particle diameter of the inorganic filler and the optical retardation plate contains silicon oxide as the inorganic filler.
