METHOD OF DETECTING BLOOD VESSEL CROSSING PART IN IMAGE OF EYEGROUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of image processing for detecting a crossing part of blood vessels which could not be detected by an existing method of detecting the crossing part depending on the extraction of blood vessels. SOLUTION: This method of image processing comprises a process of inputting an image of the eyeground (102), a process of calculating the average value of the pixels on the outer periphery part of a square or circular filter (103), a process of judging the number of present blood vessels based on the result of the calculation (104), a process of judging the presence of blood vessels at the center of the filter (105) and a process of judging the presence of a crossing part of blood vessels in the filter zone based on the result of the judgements.
