PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the high efficiency discharging characteristics and the internal pressure characteristics of a nickel hydride alkaline storage battery by evenly diffusing carbon powder. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises: a diffused liquid producing process for producing carbon powder diffused liquid by diffusing reaction auxiliary agent containing at least carbon powder into a solution containing thickening agent; a coating liquid producing process for adding at least one of binding agent, thickening agent and water into the carbon powder diffused liquid, and agitating them to produce surface coating liquid adjusted to a prescribed viscosity; and a coating and drying process for applying the surface coating liquid on the surface of an electrode, and drying it. |
