PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shading correction device capable of obtaining reading data of correct white reference. SOLUTION: In a photoelectric converter constituted to lead reflected light from a carried slip at a reading position 10 to a sensor 14 through an optical system including a lens 13, a shading correction device is provided with a white reference board 19, whose surface is set to be white, so as to move straight between the reading position and a no-reading position deviating from the reading position in parallel with the carrying path of the slip.
