POWER MANAGEMENT FOR MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a power management method for reducing power consumption and shortening activation time by a format for using a complicated instructioh setting calculation(CISC) processor system for a system based on a multimedia/personal computer for driving an informaiton device, a communication device and an amusement device in a mobile vehicle. SOLUTION: The flexible power management method uses a low power type microprocessor 25 separated from a main mother board 10 for the switching of plural limited voltage levels against the main mother board and other devices. Use of a separated board 12 for I/O processing and power management provides more stable power management and adaptation of the system to a different vehicle using a different I/O device and a different network can be realized.
