PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel display method for an advertisement that employs a shadowgraph. SOLUTION: An advertising material 2, which constitutes advertising characters and an advertising design, is set in an area to be irradiated with light so that a shadowgraph 2' of the advertising material 2 is displayed on a top surface of a ground, a floor 3, or the like which is in the receding direction from a light source for the advertising material 2. Also, the advertising material 2 is rotated around a specified shaft so as to rotate the shadowgraph 2' projected on the ground or the floor, and the advertising material 2 is inverted so as to vertically/horizontally invert the shadowgraph 2' projected on the ground or the floor. Furthermore, the shadowgraph 2' projected by the advertising material 2 can be colored.
