PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation of a noise at operating a shut off device or at least substantially reduce. SOLUTION: The shut off body 2 of this shut off device is moved between the contact parts 1a, 5b by a drive device. A friction brake member 6 can be moved along with the shut off body until hitting to a control member 5a, but when the shut off body 2 hits the control member 5a, a little before the time reaching respective contact parts 1a, 5b, it can not be moved along with the shut off body 2. When the shut off body 2 moves a friction distances R1, R2 thereafter, the friction brake member 6 rubs a friction surface thereby generates the friction on the breaking body 2 to brake the movement. By such constitution, the noise generating at operating the shut off device is reduced.
