The brake lever (1) for a motor vehicle is pivoted around a shaft (4) and has an integral tub (5) for storage. The tub is mounted inside the lever and shaped to retain its contents when the lever is operated. The tub can be parallelepipedal with its floor angled with respect to the vehicle floor. The lever can have a handle (2) extending transversely of the lever axis.
