PICTURE PROCESSOR, ITS PROCESSING METHOD AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture processor and a picture processing method for quantizing picture data without deteriorating picture quality and generating quantized data with low redundancy and to provide a storage medium recording the program code of such picture processing method. SOLUTION: A quantization part 201 quantizes multivalue picture data into a quinary and outputs the quinary into the code of four bits, which can be expressed. A data compression part 202 collects the codes of four bits by three pixels and converts them into the codes of eight bits. A packing part 203 collects data of eight bits into data of a 16 bits unit and transfers them to a printer.
