PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supervisory camera apparatus where a direction displayed by a camera can be recognized from an image. SOLUTION: In the supervisory camera apparatus that is capable of panning of 360 degrees and tilt of 180 degrees, the supervisory camera apparatus generates image data on which a character denoting an azimuth of a photographing direction of the supervisory camera is superimposed. A display character (North) denoting the photographing direction of the supervisory camera is superimposed on the image photographed by the supervisory camera and the resulting image is displayed. Thus, the photographing direction of the camera can be grasped from the monitored image and the camera operation for monitoring can efficiently and accurately be operated.
