PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent monitoring communication system for a multiple dwelling house capable of reducing the frequency when a telephone line is used and also confirming the room state of a dwelling unit from which an alarm is outputted. SOLUTION: This monitoring communication system for a multiple dwelling house is provided with an alarm monitoring panel MK provided with a function for performing abnormality monitoring and speech communication control about each of individual dwelling units of a multiple dwelling house, modems MA, MB and MS connected to a centralized monitoring panel MSIC provided in an alarm monitoring center and an alarm monitoring panel provided in each multiple dwelling house through a telephone line and a communication interface panel IF connected to the modems MA and MB through a serial data transmission line. When the panel MK receives an abnormality signal together with a dwelling unit number from a dwelling unit, the panel MK notifies the panel MSIC provided in the alarm monitoring center of intra-room state information such as the presence/absence of a resident of the dwelling unit, locked/unlocked states, crime prevention set/reset states and message existence/ absence together with the abnormality signal.
