PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the nonskid effect of a portable telephone set and to reduce the probability of dropping off the telephone set main body when it is handled by reducing the horizontal size of a grip of the telephone set compared with that of the telephone set main body, forming the grip part in a curved and streamline shape to improve its design effect and also forming the nonskid grooves or the projecting/recessing parts on both side faces of the grip part. SOLUTION: The horizontal size 2 of a grip part 4 of a portable telephone set main body 1 is gradually reduced compared with the horizontal size 3 of the main body 1. Then the nonskid grooves or projecting/recessing parts are formed on both side faces of the part 4. In such a constitution of the main body 1, a user feeds no pressure in his/her hand since the part 4 is recessed at its center part and can surely grip the main body 1. Thereby the user never drop off the main body 1 just by gripping it light with his/her three fingers even when the user pushes the buttons of the main body 1 for a long period of time in a mail mode, etc. In addition, the fatigue of the user's hand can be reduced owing to the curved part 4. Thus, it is possible to obtain a new portable telephone set that can be used with no anxiety at all.
