PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely, easily, and beautifully suspend and arrange a curtain body by providing a suspending device with the curtain body suspended and arranged on an eaves portion of a building and a lifting mechanism capable of lifting the curtain body. SOLUTION: A curtain body 1 is suspended and arranged on an eaves portion N of an arcade a shopping district as a building W. A lifting mechanism 2 comprises a suspending wire 3 capable of suspending the curtain body 1 and a hoisting mechanism 4 capable of winding or releasing the suspending wire 3. A pulley as a guiding member 7 is suspension-like mounted to a corner between and an upper member W1 and one side member W2, a fixing rod 8 is mounted to the other side member W2, and a plurality of hanging rods 9 are mounted to the upper member W1. A plurality of loop-like suspending strips la are mounted to the curtain body 1, each hanging member 10 is hung on each suspending strip 1a, a suspending wire 3 is inserted through each hanging member 10, and suppressing bodies 11 capable of suppressing inward sliding of the hanging member 10 suspending proximities of right and left ends of the curtain body 1 are fixed to right and left sides of the suspending wire 3.
