PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate photographer's inconvenience that the photographer must set data information whenever photographing, to enhance quick photographing performance and simultaneously to prevent a setting operation from being forgotten. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with a mode selecting means for selecting either of a plurality of photographing modes including a prescribed photographing mode which enables a photographer to set optional information on photographing and to take pictures on the basis of the set information, an operating member for setting date information, a clock means, a display means for displaying time data based on the set date information, a storing means for storing the date information set by the operating means when the prescribed photographing mode is selected, and display control means 104 and 105 for reading out the date information for the prescribed photographing mode stored by the storing means when the prescribed photographing mode is selected, and then, controlling the display means so that the time data based on the date information may be displayed.
